MASOR® CHRONIC PAIN TREATMENT
Frequently Asked Questions
Pain is one of the four cardinal indicators affecting soft tissue inflammation. The other three are swelling, redness and heat. Contributing factors to inflammation include; disease, injury, neuropathic and musculoskeletal conditions. Our unique treatment addresses all four of these indicators. The published peer reviewed medical study shows the effect on two cardinal indicators; one, using the McGill pain indicator and the second, an Agema infrared scanner. Notations are made on redness and swelling reduction. It is a patented dynamic pulsed electromagnetic field therapy that has long lasting healing effects on all tissue and is applied by a qualified therapist.

What is the treatment?
The treatment uses the MASOR® Magnetic Biological Stimulator device for the three sessions. This is the minimum standard treatment protocol and used in conjunction with the pain evaluation tool. Each pain treatment session lasts for approximately one hour and is scheduled at the same time each day. Relaxation is recommended but If you do engage in activity, restrict it to light in nature.
Is this treatment invasive?
No. The treatment is topical and requires that you wear comfortable clothing.
Is there more pain during treatment?
There is little or no sensation during treatment. Clients have reported tingling, tickling, warmth, and coolness.
It is extremely rare to experience an increase in pain!
What results should I expect from the treatment?
In our medically published research, ninety-three percent of subjects had positive results. Ten percent (12 of 128 subjects) in our research reported total pain relief after their first chronic pain treatment. This is the primary reason why we test every day before treatment. Not only does it give us an indication of the treatment efficacy, but, gives you the client, re-assurance of your wise decision to come for Cottage Day spa pain treatment.
Do my medications have an effect on the efficacy of treatment?
Certain medications may have an effect on the evaluation tool results.
Do I require the three treatments?
This protocol follows our research and is found to be the most effective. In
the eighteen years since the publication of the peer reviewed Acta Medica paper, we have no reason
to change the application schedule. When a client wishes follow up treatment, the desired response is usually reported after one application. Additional treatment packages are available.
Can I receive this treatment at any other medical clinic or professional spa?
There are no negotiations under way for that option! Cottage Day Spa chronic pain treatment is performed using a medically published methodology, a patented device, certification to treat and twenty-five years of experience. Keep an eye out for a Cottage Day Spa opening near you!
Will I have to come back for additional treatment?
In our medically published research paper, only five percent of subjects required ongoing treatment for their chronic pain. Most responded within the three days of treatment and on follow up, report continued improvement. Options and packages are available in this event.
What methods are used to evaluate my chronic pain?
On the first visit for treatment, Cottage Day Spa administers an extensively modified McGill-Melzack
Pain and Present Pain Intensity, (PPI) Questionnaire. This method of analyzing a client's reported pain,
developed by Ron Melzack PhD. at McGill University, has become a world standard in the assessment of pain during research. The use of this modified assessment tool allows the consistent ongoing evaluation of a particular pain treatment.
Are there any adverse side effects to the treatment?
Masor® has a twenty-five year pain treatment experience with no contraindications being reported. Masor® has been notified with Health and Welfare Canada* since its inception. *Health Canada
